Gold Terms & Conditions
These terms explain selling gold by post to Lost Designer Pty Ltd. They apply to postal gold requests, not consignment sales or Lost Watches purchases.
1. Requesting a postage label
Complete the request form with accurate contact details, an Australian postal address and a description of your gold. Photographs are optional. Please wait for your label and our packing instructions before sending anything. Requesting a label does not lock a gold price.
2. The rate used for your gold
Postal buying rates are separate from our in-store rates. We use the postal buying rate applicable when your parcel arrives at our boutique, rather than the rate when you request a label or post your parcel. We record the arrival and applicable rates against your request.
The online calculator is an estimate only. Your final gold value depends on the verified weight and purity of the gold received. Stones and other non-gold components are not paid for as gold.
3. Assessment and payment
By agreeing to these terms and sending your gold, you authorise us to assess it and arrange payment using the arrival rate and verified gold weight and purity, less the postage deduction below. This is a direct purchase, not consignment. Your receipt will show the assessment, deduction and amount paid.
If there is a problem with the contents, ownership or assessment that prevents us completing the purchase, we will contact you about the next steps.
4. Postage deduction
We deduct $20 from the final payout to cover postage. This is one deduction per postal sale, not per piece. It is shown separately in the calculator and your payment breakdown. If your estimated gold value does not cover this deduction, contact us before arranging postage.
5. Packing and transport
Wrap pieces separately, secure them in a sturdy, discreet box, fill empty space and seal the parcel carefully. Follow the carrier instructions supplied with your label. Keep photographs of the contents and your lodgement receipt until the purchase is complete.
Do not assume that a standard label covers every item or value. Ask us to confirm the transport arrangements and any applicable cover before sending valuables. Bullion requires separate transport approval.
6. Seller and payment details
You must own the gold or have authority to sell it. After we record arrival, we will send a secure link for the identification and payment details required to complete the purchase. Do not put identity-document numbers or bank details in the initial request or email them to us.
Payment is arranged after assessment and the required checks are complete. We use the bank account or PayID details you supply securely. Check these carefully. We will email a receipt when payment is recorded; bank processing times may vary.
7. Questions, cancellation or return requests
If you need to change or cancel a request, or ask for a return, contact us as soon as possible. We will confirm the current stage of your request and discuss the available next steps, including return arrangements and any proposed costs before proceeding.
8. Your information and rights
We use your details to manage postage, assessment, seller verification, payment and purchase records. See our Privacy Policy. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian law.
